Diagnostics questions
My engine light is on. Is it safe to drive?
A steady amber engine light usually means get it checked soon. A flashing engine light, or any red warning light such as oil pressure or coolant temperature, means stop as soon as it is safe and call us. If in doubt, phone us on 01698 755611 and describe what you are seeing.
Can't I just get the code read at a parts shop?
A basic code reader tells you which system has logged a fault, but not why. The same code can have several causes. Our diagnostics go further, using live data and testing to confirm the cause before you spend money on parts.
Do you diagnose all makes and models?
We work on a wide range of makes and models. Give us a call with your vehicle details and we will confirm before you bring it in.
Will clearing the code fix the problem?
No. Clearing a fault code turns the light off, but if the underlying fault is still there it will come back, sometimes after the problem has got worse.
